Class Offerings and Numbering System Explanation
Course numbers consist of two letters and three digits.   The letters designate the department.   The
first digit indicates the year, the last digit gives the semester it is offered in.   If the course is
offered in the first semester it will end with a one (1).   If the course is offered in the second semester
it will end with a two (2).

The Teaching of Bible Doctrine may be summarized under ten basic divisions as follows:

BI 101 Old Testament Survey

A general Survey of the Old Testament designed for the first year student.

BI 102 New Testament Survey

A general Survey of the New Testament.   BI 101 and BI 102 are required of all first year
students.

BI 202 Acts of the Apostles {1996-1998}

A verse by verse study of the Book of Acts, including the Apostles and work of church
planting in Acts.

BI 211 Acts -- Pauline Epistles {1997-1999}

A study of the Pauline Epistles and the Book of Acts emphasizing the chronology of the
New Testament.   Summary of the development of each of the early churches in Acts.

BI 201 - 202 Life of Paul {1996-1998}

A detailed study of the Life of the Apostle Paul, his missionary work and methods of church
planting.   The Apostle's Epistles are studied.

BI 401 Hebrews

A verse by verse study of the Book of Hebrews.   All of its divisions and theology.   The
practical application to the Baptist Church and the doctrines of the Book will be taught in
detail.

BI 402 Romans

A verse by verse study of the doctrine and divisions of Romans.   The practical application
to Sunday school and church is taught.

BI 401 Revelation - Daniel

A verse by verse study of Revelation, its prophetic application, and its relation to Daniel's
prophecy.   The pastors [in training] will be taught how to teach these prophecies.

BI 102 Revival, Holiness, and the Man of God

A detailed study of the Biblical account of Revivals.   The place of the man of God and
Holiness in the history of Revival.   A special section of study on the Old Testament accounts
of Revivals, included is a section on individual and national sanctification.

BI 201 Harmony of the Gospels {1996-1998}

The correlation of the Gospel accounts in Matthew through John.   The student is taught
how to teach the four Gospels in relation to each book.

A study of Biblical Prophecy, Interpretation, past, and future.

A study of the history, principles, and methods of Biblical interpretation.

A study of the [local] church that Jesus builds.   Its doctrines, officers, beginning, and

A complete study of the History of the first century Baptists to the present time, their
persecutions, perpetuity, and faith.

A study of all of the major divisions of Theology.

A detailed study of the Tabernacle in its relation to the [local] church and redemption.

SP 101 Fundamentals of Speech

The Fundamentals of effective speaking, enunciation, posture, breath control and
expression.   Classroom experience will be included.

SP 202 Homiletics

A study of sermon building, gathering of materials, construction and delivery.   Various
types of sermons are taught.

A practical delivery of sermons, the reading of Scripture, the conducting of a church

Practical Studies Department

PS 101 Personal Evangelism

A required course for all students.   The student will learn the uses of the Scripture and the
Holy Spirit in leading a soul to Christ.   The study of the Holy Spirit's place in soul winning
and the dangers of easy believism.

PS 102 Prayer & Fasting

The place of Prayer in the life of the Pastor and Christian workers.   Included in this study
on Prayer will be the New Testament teaching on Fasting for the servant of God.

PS 302 Youth Ministry/Workers

A general course and overview of Youth Work in church Ministry.

PS 101-302 Practical Studies

A special group of Studies taught by the Pastor of the Baptist Church.   The Practical
side of the preacher's conduct, his call and character.   The conducting of funerals,
weddings, baptisms, community relations, finance and a general overview of the pastorate.

PS 302 The History of the Cults

A special study of the various Cults, large, small and deceptive ones.   Includes an
overview of the Protestant and Roman religions.

PS 102 Christian Ethics and the Pastorate

The integrity, character, honesty and deportment of Pastors and all Christian workers is
studied.   The Book of Proverbs is used extensively.

MU 101 Fundamentals/Principles of Music

A study of notation, divisions of time, major and minor scales, intervals, triads and general
terms are included.

Designed to teach the Pastor, missionary, and music director how to conduct a Song
service.   Included are the types of present day music and the music that is acceptable in the
Baptist Church.

The study of English grammar for the beginning student.

A study of Composition and the help for pastors in creative Writing.   Classroom guidance
is designed to develop the student's ability and skills in Writing.

Primary emphasis on reading, writing, language structure, and pronunciation.

LA 401-402 Beginning Greek I & II

A Beginning course in the Greek language to aid in Bible study.   The Textus Receptus and
the Authorized KJV Version is the center of this study.

MI 201 Missions History/Techniques I

A study of the Great Commission and History of Missions.   The world's fields and the
History of how they have been reached.   Included is an overview of many Missionaries and
their ministry.

MI 202 Missions Techniques II

A complete study of the call, training, motives, qualifications, and preparation of the
Missionary.   The 'how to' work on the foreign field in planting churches.   The problems
of Missionary families and the dangers they face.

Christian Education Department

CE 301-302 Philosophy of Christian Education

A thorough study of the Philosophy of Christian Education, its terminology, history and
secular influences.   This course shows the biblical perspective of educating believers, the
goal and scriptural basis.   A must for all pastors who anticipate a Christian school in their
church or home.   CE 302 is a study of Humanism in its relation to Christian Education and
how it has infiltrated the Christian school movement.

CE 201 The Pastor's Wife

A study of the Pastor's Wife, her involvement in church work, her place in the Pastor's
home, her children, and as a help meet to the man of God.

CE 202 Child Study

Child rearing and the pastor's wife's role.   The various characteristics of Children, youth and
age levels.   The physical, mental, and social aspects are covered in the Child's spiritual
development.

CE 301 Flannel Graph

A course on the use, materials, and methods of Flannel Graph use in education.

CE 301 Church Business / Sunday School Administration

A 'how to' study of all Church Business affairs, the officers, procedure, budgets, offerings,
and accounting.   /
A study of the Sunday School, its organization, promotions, divisions, and activities.   The
duties of Sunday School officers is also covered.

CE 401 Computer Science

A study of Computer Science.   How to do it, the setting up of the pastor and church
Computer systems.   Also software use and hardware application.

CE 402 Audio Visuals

The use of Audio Visual equipment, methods and materials.   Designed to help the teacher
and man of God in their use of Audio Visual materials.

EL Bible Study Methods

Methods of Bible Study are taught to help the student learn a systematic way of preparing
lessons and Study materials.   Helps for the individual's personal devotions are taught.

A verse by verse study of the Book of Proverbs and how to teach and preach the Book.

EL Defense of the Faith

A study of contemporary trends and movements; the men who make up the great apostasy
we now face and their denials are revealed.   The student will be taught how to avoid the
pitfalls of a critical spirit among genuine Baptists and how to conduct themselves in a
Christ like manner.   The history of the great apostasy will be studied in order to help the
student avoid the pitfalls of falling away in the last days.

EL Basic Nutrition

A study of Nutrition in general and how to take care of the believer's body, the temple of
the Holy Spirit.   Teaching on how to survive in a polluted society.

EL The Evangelist

A study of the Biblical position and work of an Evangelist.   The deportment of the
Evangelist, his care and support, the invitation, his care and renumeration by the
churches.

Counseling and the position of assistant pastor and youth pastor in Counseling.
