PRACTICE PREACHING SEMESTER REQUIREMENTS
FallThe following requirements for practice preaching class must be fully completed.
Any papers not in on the designated days will receive a 0 grade. There is no
reasonable excuse for a God called man to not be properly prepared in his preaching.
These requirements are designed to help you learn to prepare. The number of times
you preach in this class will be determined by the size of the class, however, when
you are scheduled to preach, be ready. Any student scheduled to preach and is not
prepared to preach and does not do so will receive a 0 grade for that message. All
papers and materials are due on Monday in class on the last week of regular classes.REQUIREMENTS I. Collect and file (100) one hundred illustrations from various sources.
These must be illustrations you have read or heard. None may be taken
from illustration books. Each illustration must have the source indicated
for it. (Sword of the Lord, Spurgeon's Sermons, Readers Digest, Newspapers,
etc.) Double space each illustration (all must be typed).II. Read (10) complete sermons in print. Five (5) by living men and five (5)
by deceased men. Indicate where each sermon was read from, giving a brief
outline of the content of the sermon.III. Prepare a complete outline with introduction, body and conclusion on the
following five (5) subjects. Type all work using the proper outlining
procedure.a. The Grace of God
b. Second coming of Christ
c. Heaven
d. Hell
e. SalvationIV. Regular class preaching. You will be assigned periodic texts to preach
from before the class. You will preach several times before the class
and must hand in on the day you preach a detailed outline of the message
you preach.Make two copies of all papers handed in. One for your file and one to the
professor which will not be returned. All papers must be typed.This is the only requirement sheet you will receive. If you need a second one
