Couriers for Christ A Local Church Ministry of Wyldewood Baptist Church Rev. Randall G. King, Pastor The Story of Couriers for Christ Couriers for Christ was founded in November of 1979 for the difficult task of secretly providing Scriptures to the persecuted Christians under communist oppression in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.   CFC was established as a local church ministry of Wyldewood Baptist Church.   Its success today is due to the joint efforts of hundreds of Baptist churches from around the globe.    Political changes in Eastern Europe have opened once closed doors to incredible opportunites to reach The Story of Great Need the nearly one-half billion people who were held in physical bondage as well as spiritual darkness.   Since its inception, in obedience to our Lord's command in Matthew 28:19-20, Couriers for Christ has supplied hundreds of tons of Scriptures and Gospel literature to Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Political change continues however, and present "open door" conditions could close rapidly.   We must work while it is day! The Story of Our Purpose Distribution: The purpose of Couriers for Christ it to provide Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union with the Word of God. We distribute whole Bibles, New Testaments, John & Romans, tracts, doctrinal literature, and teaching materials.   Psalm 138:2    Translation: We encourage nationals to translate the Scriptures and other Gospel- related material into their own languages. When accurate translations have been completed, Couriers for Christ plans and finances the mass production of the work, then oversees the distribution of the completed project.    Humanitarian: Couriers for Christ also delivers limited quantities of donated medical supplies and humanitarian aid.    These resources are used to assist in estab- lishing and strengthening local Baptist churches so missionaries and national pastors can reach their people for the Lord Jesus Christ.    Couriers for Christ is based at Wyldewood Baptist Church and is overseen by The Story of Our Operation the pastor and an advisory committee of church members.   They assist in coordinating the fund raising, printing projects, shipping, and distribution.   The needs of various mission- aries and national pastors are screened by the advisory committee.   The ministry's director and representatives then go out to present these needs to fundamental Baptist churches for consideration and support.    Support checks are made out to COURIERS FOR CHRIST and sent to Wyldewood Baptist Church.   All support is utilized by the advisory committee to fulfill our purpose.   Support that is marked for a specific area is disbursed where it is designated. Thousands of hearts and souls have been touched by the Couriers for Christ.   Almost daily, messages of overwhelming gratitude are received by the missionaries.    There is, however, more work to do.   Won't you help? I want to write and thank you for all your labor on our behalf.   Our job here would be extremely difficult without Bibles, New Testaments, Tracts, etc.   Also, thank you for the clothes.   They were a real blessing to many people. -- from Russia

We wish to thank you very much for the shipping of Czech Gospels of John and New Testaments.   We have been concentrating on literature distribution in the last two weeks and 8,000 Scripture portions have already been distributed here in Prague.   We have eight new correspondence school students thus far and four have requested personal visits.   We are going to be starting services this fall and these are good prospects for people to invite out to services.   Thank you for your helpful part in the work here. -- from the Czech Republic

The Bibles have silenced many arguments with Orthodox people. Almost everyone is "Orthodox" and almost no one has a Bible.   I asked a lady in the market if she had a Bible, and she was almost stunned.   She said no, and I went straight home and got one.   When I gave her the Bible she couldn't believe it. Pray that God will open the hearts of many like her, here in Eastern Russia. -- from Russia    We do have smiles on our faces with all these Scriptures to pass out this spring and summer.   We thank you so much for your labour of love.   These Scriptures give us the high- est quality contact with people, not to mention putting the power of the Word of God into many, many hands. Baptist Couriers for Christ (CFC)             has been mightily used of God             since 1979 to get Scriptures and     humanitarian aid to Eastern Europe and the     former Soviet Union.   Based here at Wylde-     wood Baptist Church, this work is made     possible by the combined efforts and finan- cial support of hundreds of churches.   Material representing millions of dollars has been distributed on the field.   Literally hundreds of missionaries have been helped, and thous- ands of souls have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ through this ministry.    A very important aspect of Couriers for Christ is our ministry to the churches here in America.   Represen- atives travel throughout the USA preaching the Gospel Rev. Randall G. King Pastor and presenting CFC.   They challenge churches with the many needs in the various countries served, and are often used in missions conferences, revivals, youth camps, and other special meetings.    Another area of our ministry is the actual trips to the field taken by our representatives to assess needs and oversee distribution.   Discussions with national pastors and foreign missionaries enable us to determine exactly how we can best meet their needs.   CFC works solely through local churches and missionaries on the field.    As pastor of Wyldewood    Baptist Church, I am    thrilled to recommend our ministry, Baptist Couriers for Christ, to other churches for support.   The representatives Preaching the Word   Reaching the World are men of God who preach the Word, the finances are all aboveboard, the material distributed is high quality and textually accurate, and the work being done for nearly 20 years has had the untold bless- ings of God!    Pastor Randy King
